For almost a decade, I've had the privilege of speaking with thousands of managers just like you—folks who are in the thick of it, dealing with real challenges in real time. If you've ever found yourself staring at a problem thinking, "I have no idea what to do next," or feeling like things are just sticky and hard, you're not alone. Trust me, we've all been there.
I created the Management Matters podcast because I wanted to provide a space where managers can not only seek help but also hear the raw, unfiltered stories of other leaders. There's something powerful about realizing that the struggles we face aren't just our own—that many of us share the same hurdles and headaches.
Being a manager is both a privilege and a responsibility. It's more than just overseeing tasks; it's about leading people, fostering growth, and making a positive impact.
When we feel supported and equipped in our roles, not only do we perform better at work, but we also show up better for the people we love at home. My hope is that through real conversations and practical advice, you'll feel clearer, more confident, and better equipped to tackle whatever comes your way.
Let's figure this stuff out, together.
I’m so excited to finally bring you the Management Matters podcast, a space I’ve created because, quite frankly, people have been begging for it!
For nearly two decades, I’ve worked in education and nonprofit spaces, wearing many hats—classroom teacher, team leader, manager, coach—you name it. Helping people navigate leadership challenges has always been my passion. Over the past decade, I’ve supported thousands of leaders through short, powerful conversations, and the one thing I’ve consistently heard is, “I need more of this!”
That’s why I’m thrilled to offer this podcast—a place where you can call in with your management headaches, get real-time advice, and learn from the struggles and solutions of others.
Great management is learnable, and I believe that by making this kind of support more widely accessible, we can all grow as leaders. It’s a chance for all of us to learn together, and it’s been a long time coming.
I hold an A.B. from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies from Stanford University. After years in San Francisco, my family and I moved to the woods of southern Oregon, where we love being part of a small-town community.
When I’m not working, I’m usually driving my three kids around, cooking up something delicious, or listening to John Denver, Taylor Swift, or Broadway hits—depending on who gets DJ privileges that day!
I believe great management is the key to happier teams and thriving organizations, and I’m here to help you feel more confident, more capable, and ready to take on whatever comes your way.
Let’s dive in and figure this out together!
